BandSim is a community where aspiring musicians and music lovers come together to create, compete, and celebrate music. These guidelines help ensure everyone has a positive, safe, and creative experience.

Expected Behavior
✅ DO:
- Be supportive: Encourage fellow musicians and celebrate their achievements
- Give constructive feedback: Offer helpful suggestions respectfully
- Share knowledge: Help newcomers learn and grow
- Report issues: Flag inappropriate content or behavior
- Respect copyrights: Only use content you have rights to
- Keep it appropriate: Ensure content is suitable for ages 13+
- Vote honestly: Base competition votes on merit, not personal relationships
- Embrace diversity: Appreciate different musical styles and cultures
Prohibited Behavior
❌ DON'T:
Harassment & Hate
- Bullying, threatening, or intimidating others
- Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability
- Doxxing or sharing others' private information
- Sexual harassment or unwanted advances
Cheating & Manipulation
- Using multiple accounts to gain unfair advantage
- Vote manipulation or brigading
- Using bots or automation tools
- Exploiting bugs or glitches
Inappropriate Content
- Explicit sexual content or nudity
- Graphic violence or gore
- Content promoting illegal activities
- Spam or repetitive content
Copyright Violations
- Using copyrighted music without permission
- Claiming others' work as your own
- Distributing pirated content
- Violating intellectual property rights
Content Standards
Music Submissions
- Must be created using BandSim's tools or authorized integrations
- Should match competition brief requirements when applicable
- Lyrics must be appropriate for ages 13+
- No excessive profanity or explicit content
- Must not infringe on others' copyrights
Profile & Avatar
- Username must be appropriate and non-offensive
- Avatar must follow platform guidelines
- Band names cannot impersonate real artists
- Profile descriptions must be respectful
Community Interactions
- Comments should be constructive and relevant
- Feedback should focus on the music, not personal attacks
- Competition votes should be based on merit
- Collaborations should respect all parties involved
Reporting and Enforcement
How to Report
- Use the in-game report button on any content or profile
- Email info@bandsim.com with details and screenshots
- Contact moderators through the community hub
- For urgent safety concerns, email info@bandsim.com
Enforcement Actions
Violations may result in:
- Warning: First-time minor violations
- Content Removal: Inappropriate submissions deleted
- Temporary Suspension: Time-out from competitions or features
- Account Restriction: Limited access to certain features
- Permanent Ban: Severe or repeated violations
Appeals Process
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, email info@bandsim.com within 30 days with your username and explanation.
Competition Integrity
- Vote based on quality and creativity, not personal relationships
- Don't coordinate mass voting or vote trading
- Submit only original work created for that competition
- Respect competition deadlines and rules
- Celebrate winners gracefully, win or lose
- Report suspicious voting patterns or rule violations
Safety and Privacy
Protecting Yourself
- Never share personal information (address, phone, financial details)
- Be cautious about meeting online friends in person
- Report suspicious behavior or requests for money
- Use strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication
- Be aware of scams claiming to be BandSim representatives
For Parents
BandSim is designed for ages 13+. Parents should:
- Review these guidelines with young players
- Monitor in-app purchases and token usage
- Encourage reporting of inappropriate content
- Contact info@bandsim.com with concerns
Updates to Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines as our community grows and evolves. Major changes will be announced through in-game notifications and our website. Continued use of BandSim after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines.
